TAILS Humane Society has new volunteer team
TAILS Humane Society has a new volunteer coordination team.
Dr. Anne Spencer is the new volunteer communication coordinator. She is in her last year before retirement, and currently works as a psychologist in the Lombard school district. Spencer has worked for TAILS in her spare time for more than a decade, coordinating craft volunteers and selling pet-related crafts at craft shows as a source of revenue for TAILS.
Peg Rozhon is the new volunteer operations coordinator. She comes to TAILS fresh from retirement as a special education director, where she coordinated the educational programs for students with special needs, supervised the faculty and staff for these programs, and facilitated professional development. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Northern Illinois University. For the past several years, Rozhon has spent much of her free time volunteering in the cat department at TAILS and as a mentor for the Catalyst Program.
Rozhon and Spencer will work together to ensure that TAILS volunteers receive appropriate training and have consistently positive experiences as they volunteer.
Rozhon’s time will be spent mainly in the shelter, working directly with volunteers, conducting orientation sessions and training. Spencer will focus on administration of the volunteer program, ensuring that volunteer communication is clear and consistent and that appropriate records are maintained.
Spencer can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or 815-758-2457, ext. 10103, and Rozhon can be reached at email@example.com or 815-758-2457, ext. 10103.
