IVVC Open House scheduled for Sept. 26

Indian Valley Vocational Center invites all former, current and future students, parents and community members to its annual Open House from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26. The event will be held at the IVVC campus located at 600 Lions Road in Sandwich. The Fire Science open house also will be at the Lions Road location this year.

IVVC is a career center owned and operated by 11 school districts: Earlville, Hinckley-Big Rock, Indian Creek, Leland, Newark, Paw Paw, Plano, Sandwich, Serena, Somonauk and Yorkville. Junior and senior students from these districts can register for career programs as a part of their high school day attending for 2 1⁄2 hours either in the morning or the afternoon.

The current program offerings are Auto Body Repair, Automotive Technology, Computer Technology, Construction Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Drafting and Design Technology, Early Childhood Development, Fire Science, Graphic Communications, Health Occupations –Exploring, Health Occupations – CNA, Law Enforcement, Sports Medicine/Management and Welding and Fabrication.

IVVC opened its doors to approximately 470 students this fall as it began its 39th year of educating students. Detailed information on IVVC and its program offerings can be found at www.ivvc.net.
