Altrusan Christine DeVlieger went to the International Convention in Rotorua, New Zealand, representing the DeKalb/Sycamore Club and District 6 encompassing the states of Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

The Altrusans attended leadership seminars, lectures by international speakers and networking discussions on service projects.

While at the convention, DeVlieger was surprised to receive the International Distinguished Club Award, which is given to clubs with outstanding service to the community through their volunteerism as well as financial contributions. DeVlieger also went on a post-convention 13-day tour of both New Zealand islands.
