Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb will hold its first fall chamber concert at 3 p.m. Sept. 15.
The featured work will be the “Piano Concert No. 1 in D Minor” by J.S. Bach, and the soloist will be Victoria Young. She is a staff accompanist at Westminster Church and studied with William Koehler at Northern Illinois University, where she received a master’s degree in music.
Other numbers on the program will be the slow movement from Beethoven’s “Concerto No. 4” with Gary Mattin as soloist, and pianist Yao Lin (Lina) will perform an original work that she premiered at Carnegie Hall last spring. Yao Lin recently won the second place prizes for both Piano Solo and Piano Concerto at the American Protg International Piano and Strings Competition in New York City.
The concert is free with an optional free-will offering. Westminster Presbyterian Church is located at 830 N. Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb.
