NIU announces fall ACT test prep schedule

The Northern Illinois University fall ACT testpreparation programprovides individualized attention in a small classroom setting and offers students a chance to best prepare themselves for the ACT test.

The program will start on Oct. 6 and be held on consecutive Sundays until Nov. 3 in Graham Hall Room 334 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. NIU parking is free on Sundays.

Enrollment is limited and registration is now open at

NIU’s program covers English, math, reading and science reasoning.

The NIU ACT instructors include Lance Vobornik, an experienced mathematics instructor at NIU with a master’s degree in applied mathematics, Rosalind Bowers, an experienced English teacher at the high school and college level with a master’s degree in English, and Melissa Craig, an experienced teacher at St. Thomas More School.

Fall ACT Test Preparation schedule:

Oct. 6 – Pre-test

Oct. 13 – English

Oct. 20 – Math

Oct. 27 – Reading and science reasoning

Nov. 3 – Post-test

Cost is $250 ($275 after Sept. 27), which includes instruction, book, CD-ROM and retired ACT tests. It does not include registration to take the actual ACT test.
