Sandwich native Leslie Beukelman will return home to perform on the Sandwich Fair’s Home Arts Stage from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 7.

Since graduating with a jazz performance/jazz voice degree from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, Beukelman has forged a central role in the Chicago music scene, performing at various venues in and around the Chicagoland area.

Her versatility allows her to be featured in many different projects from jazz to rock to R&B, to dance music and beyond.

She performs regularly with the Chicago Skyliners Big Band at FitzGerald’s in Berwyn, can be seen at the top rock clubs with the band Hey Champ, and as a first-call musician, she is in the studio regularly, recording vocals for original projects and commercial jingles.

At the fair, Beukelman will perform with her trio – voice, keyboard and upright bass – to play a collection of music from original songs to songs the audience may know.
