Former DeKalb volleyball player Emily Bemis will not play for the Iowa volleyball team this season, an Iowa sports information member said Monday.

Bemis, who transferred to Iowa from Arizona in the spring after her freshman season, was the 2011 Daily Chronicle Volleyball Player of the Year.

Bemis told the Daily Chronicle in July that she transferred from Arizona to be closer to family, but her reason for leaving Iowa is unknown.
