Screening set for film on immigration reform

Published: Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

DeKalb – A movie screening about immigration reform legislation will be held at 6 p.m. today at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 1201 Twombly Road, DeKalb.

“The Dream is Now” tells human stories behind the legislation and focuses on the voices of young people who are unable to gain education, find employment or serve in the military because of their immigration status.

The goal of the event and others like it across the nation is to get the conversation about immigration reform out in the open.
