Crime Stoppers is offering cash rewards to the public for information leading to suspects in two recently reported local crimes.

In rural Cortland, the organization is seeking information about a burglary that occurred sometime between May 15 and Aug. 21 at a cell tower in the 18000 block of Chase Road. Copper wire and copper grounding plates were stolen from the site. In the past three months, burglars have stolen copper from two other local cell towers, according to a press release.

In a separate incident, Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a person who walked into the Shabbona Casey's around 10:50 p.m. on Aug. 10 and demanded money from a clerk who was closing the shop. The robber took an unknown amount of cash before making a getaway.

Anyone with information about either of these crimes, the items taken or the people involved is asked to contact DeKalb County Crime Stoppers at 815-895-3272 or email crimestoppers@dekalbcounty.org.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward up to $1,000 and reports can be made anonymously.
