Six taken to hospital after DeKalb crash
DeKALB – The DeKalb Fire Department took six people to Kishwaukee Community Hospital after a three-vehicle crash Thursday on Sycamore Road.
About 2:50 p.m., a Toyota Highlander was turning left from Sycamore Road into the hospital when it hit an oncoming Buick LeSabre nearly head-on. The Buick careened into a Dodge Grand Caravan that was waiting to leave the hospital at the light, and the Toyota continued into a utility pole.
Carmen Mason-Taylor and three children from the Toyota were taken to the hospital, as was Elaine Sailor, the driver of the Buick, and Mary Reynolds, a passenger in the Caravan, but Deputy Chief Greg Hoyle said that none of the injuries appeared life-threatening.
Police had not filed charges against anyone involved in the crash as of Thursday evening. The investigation is ongoing.
