SYCAMORE — If you've been driving around Sycamore in the past couple of days, you may have seen a man in white robes and a white mask carrying a cane.

DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Gary Dumdie saw the masked man himself Monday on Route 64 near Sycamore. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office had been receiving reports Monday afternoon about the man, he said.

When DeKalb County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped and spoke with him, they learned he is a transient passing through the area on foot, Dumdie said. Since he was not doing any criminal activity, authorities did not decide to question him further.

"It's not uncommon to have transients passing through," Dumdie said.
