GENOA – A Genoa teen was injured about 7 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle in which she was riding went into a ditch off Route 23 near Lloyd Road.

Monica T. Lopez-Rogers, of the 100 block of Robinson Street, was treated and released from Kishwaukee Community Hospital. The vehicle’s driver, Tierra C. Lopez-Rogers, 19, of the same address, was charged with operating an uninsured vehicle, improper lane use and unlawful display of registration, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

The 1997 Nissan Altima was headed south on Route 23 when Tierra Lopez-Rogers lost control of the car, overcorrected and went into the ditch, according to the news release.
