WHEATON – A suburban Chicago man is being held on $1 million bond after authorities say he tried to hire a hit man to kill his relatives.

Matthew Olszewski appeared in DuPage County bond court Friday.

The 23-year-old from Glendale Heights was arrested Thursday after authorities say he tried to pay someone to kill his aunt, uncle and a third person who was described by the county sheriff's office as an "elderly resident of the home."

Investigators say he arranged a meeting with the hit man, who was actually an undercover officer.

Olszewski is charged with three counts of murder solicitation and three counts of solicitation of murder for hire.

It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
