65th anniversary

Bill and Mary Ellen Finnan of Sycamore celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 31, 2013.

Mary Ellen Keaser and Bill Finnan were married July 31, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb.

Bill retired from General Electric after 39 years. Mary worked at the Fyfe ’n Drum restaurant and retired from Northern Illinois University.

They have one daughter, Pam of Phoenix, Ariz., and three sons, Jim and Krist of Rockford, Roger of DeKalb and J.J. and Sherry of Maple Park. They have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate with their family at a later date. Cards can be sent to 1510 Kennicott Court, Sycamore, IL 60178.

Dolaz-Hackman

Jeffrey A. Hackman and Jennifer S. Dolaz, both of Havana, will marry on Aug. 24, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Green Valley.

Her parents are John and Carol Breedlove of Manito and the late David Dolaz. His parents are Ronald and Janis Hackman of Havana.

The future bride received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010. She is employed at First Farm Credit Services.

The future bridegroom received a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in 2006. He farms and also is employed by Hurley Funeral Homes.

Stokke-Howe

Karin Stokke of Springfield and Erik Howe of Carroll, Iowa, are engaged to married May 3, 2014, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, DeKalb.

The daughter of Richard and Laurel Stokke of DeKalb, the bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of DeKalb High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois - Champaign in 2008 and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University Medical School in 2013. She is a resident emergency medicine physician at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.

The son of Trevor and Kathy Howe of Roland, Iowa, the groom-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Roland-Story High School. He earned a political science degree from Iowa State University in 2009 and a Juris Doctor from Drake University School of Law in 2012. He is the Assistant County Attorney for Carroll and Calhoun counties in Carroll, Iowa.
