DeKalb officials close investigation into fire at pallet business; cause unknown

DeKALB – DeKalb fire officials do not know the cause of a fire that did $50,000 in damage to two sheds at Beau Industries on Friday.

Firefighters responded to a report of smoke at 7:14 p.m. at 1300 Oak St. Upon arrival, the crews found heavy fire and smoke to a conveyor shed at the commercial pallet manufacturer. Although the fire was mostly contained to the conveyor shed, it did extend to a larger attached shed.

No one was injured. The investigation has been completed, and the case is closed.
