Genealogy interest group to meet Wednesday

Published: Monday, July 22, 2013 11:48 a.m. CDT

The DeKalb County Historical-Genealogical Society has formed a genealogy interest group to help those interested in family history share, learn and encourage the hobby.

The informal group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Sycamore Public Library meeting room. The next meeting will be Wednesday.

The DeKalb County Historical-Genealogical Society sponsors programs that promote the history and genealogy of DeKalb County. Meetings are usually held at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday in the Oak Crest Retirement Center Little Theater in DeKalb. Since programs are not presented during the summer, the next meeting will be Sept. 11 when Nancy Beasley will discuss her book, “The Underground Railroad in DeKalb County, Illinois.”
