Published: Monday, July 22, 2013 11:41 a.m. CST

The DeKalb County Farm Bureau is bringing some of the farm to this year’s Family Fun Day with its “Barnyard Bash” on Saturday.

The Barnyard Bash will feature a variety of farm-related activities such as a straw bale maze, treading tires, a cattle roundup, corn toss, soybean dig for a pig, farm cap challenge, corn shell, plant a seed and milk a recirculating dairy cow on the Farm Bureau lawn.

Other activities include a petting zoo, tractors to sit on, gunny sack races, face painting and a cake walk. Live entertainment will be provided by country singer Woody James.

The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Farm Bureau members and their families are welcome to attend.

A picnic-style meal of hamburgers and hot dogs will be prepared by the Country Store.

Tickets cost $7 per person and include all activities, snacks and meal. Children age 3 and younger are admitted free. A ticket is required for admittance.
