For the third year in a row, local country band Stroker Red will kick off Kishwaukee Fest, a week-long celebration.

This year’s show is titled “Country Tails.” The show not only offers an evening of country favorites and original selections, but also is dedicated to the adoption of local animals and supporting area animal rescue organizations.

Country Tails will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hopkins Park Band Shell, 1350 Sycamore Road in DeKalb. The concert is free. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own refreshments and enjoy an evening of great music.

Stroker Red has appeared all over northern Illinois. Band members are Chad Carlson, Cory Moore, Andrew Wood, Grant Stoker and James DeForest.

The concert is sponsored in part by O’Learys Restaurant and Pub, Associated Bank, Allstate Insurance Agency/Sycamore and Kishwaukee Fest.
