Feed’em Soup to hold rummage sale

Feed’em Soup will hold a rummage sale July 25 through 27 at its headquarters, 122 S. First St. in DeKalb, with 100 percent of proceeds supporting its mission to feed the hungry in the local community.

The sale will be held from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Donations for the sale can be dropped off at the headquarters from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. any Wednesday and 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. every Thursday, Friday or Saturday before the sale.

Donations should be in clean, useable and saleable condition.

Donations of plastic hangers, handled paper shopping bags, paper wrap, bubble wrap and other packing materials are appreciated. Breakable items should be marked to avoid handling mishaps.

Items that will not be accepted include car seats, cribs, potty chairs, diaper pails, used sippy cups and bottles, library books, magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed books, computers or accessories that are more than two years old, any older-model electronics or small appliances, microwave ovens, entertainment centers, used travel mugs, plastic drinking cups, promotional coffee cups, clear florist vases, large appliances, cassette or VCR tapes, office equipment, fast-food toys or stuffed animals.

Acceptable donations are antique or vintage collectibles or clothing, books, working electronics, furniture, garden/lawn/patio items, handbags, kitchen items, linens, small appliances, decor, artwork, lamps, rugs, household items, jewelry, CDs, DVDs, video games and tools.
