Drum, bugle corps championship set for Sunday

DeKALB – Seven of the world's top drum and bugle corps will perform at Huskie Stadium on Sunday as part of the Tour of Champions championship.

Groups competing in the championship are Phantom Regiment, The Cadets, Santa Clara Vanguard, The Cavaliers, Carolina Crown, Bluecoats and Blue Devils. This year's show also will welcome alumni from many Midwest drum and bugle corps that are no longer active as well as alumni from local high school and college bands.

Local special event coordinator Michael Embrey of FunME Events brought the performance to DeKalb. The performance is sponsored in part by The NICE Society and Kishwaukee Fest.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets range from $25 to $75 and are available at the NIU box office in advance and at the stadium the night of the show.
