Bluegrass show to raise school supplies

The fifth annual country music show to raise school supplies for disadvantaged local children will be held July 21.

The show will feature live country, gospel and bluegrass music. Admission is the donation of any type of school supplies, such as pens, pencils, glue, crayons, notebooks and backpacks. Donated supplies will be distributed by the Salvation Army to needy children in DeKalb County.

The show will be from 1:30 to 5 p.m. July 21 at The House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb. Bands and musicians who would like to perform should contact organizer Gary Mullis at 815-762-5589.
