Metra offers ticket deal for Stanley Cup celebration

Published: Friday, June 28, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

CHICAGO – Metra is offering a deal for Blackhawks fans who want to watch the Stanley Cup celebration today.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the commuter train line will charge only $5 for unlimited rides today. The offer is good for all riders today, whether they’re attending the festivities or not.

The special tickets won’t be sold at vending machines and riders are encouraged to buy the tickets in advance from ticket agents.

Because of the expected big crowds, people won’t be allowed to take bicycles on trains today. Nor will they be allowed to bring alcohol on trains, as is typically allowed.
