IH tractors featured at Early Day show

International Harvester tractors and equipment will be the featured brand at the 42nd annual Sandwich Early Day Engine and Tractor Club Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday.

The annual consignment auction kicks off at 9 a.m. today. Tractor parades will be conducted on the grounds at 2 p.m. and through Sandwich beginning at 5 p.m.

Sunday’s events will get under way with a church service at 8:30 a.m. For the second year, the event will host the Rock County Pullers at 10 a.m.

The club has organized its first tractor ride on Sunday, departing from the fairgrounds at 8:30 a.m. for a 23-mile ride north of Sandwich. Upon return to the fairgrounds, the tractors will parade in front of the grandstand where drivers and their machines will be introduced to the crowd.

A horse-drawn wagon is available for visitors both days for free. There will be gas engines, all makes of tractors and machinery, a working sawmill, toy show, antique truck display, corn shellers, food and flea market vendors.

For the kids, a corn box will yield surprises, there will be games to play and an enclosed area to pedal tractors. Kiddie tractor pulls are set for 1:30 p.m. today and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $5 for adults, 13 and older, and free for children 12 and younger.
