St. John’s schedules annual picnic

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John (Missouri Synod) will host its annual picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of the church at  26555 Brickville Road, Sycamore.

Mallory Jean Wilson will perform at 2 p.m. and the Kishwaukee Barbershop Chorus at 3 p.m. in the circle drive. There will be a petting zoo on the front lawn, bingo in the conference room of the church, hayrides in the back lawn, bean bag toss and volleyball on the south side of church and a kite-flying contest will be held on the north side.

Food will be served in the all-purpose room from 1 to 2 p.m. A door prize drawing will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the welcoming table where guests can receive their free ticket.

All are welcome.

Kingston church sets monthly supper

The Kingston United Methodist Church monthly supper will be July 6. Seating times are 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

Held usually on the first Saturday of the month at the church, 121 W. First St., the suppers include dessert. Donations are $9 for adults and $4 for children. Carry-out meals and gift certificates are available.

This month, the meat will be roast beef.

Federated Church Kids Club plan car wash

The Kids Club at Federated Church in Sycamore will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at the church to raise money for summer camp.

The public is invited; the cost is $5.

Chilldren will attend either a short or long camp session (depending on age) at Pilgrim Park Church Camp near Princeton.

The church is located at 612 W. State St. The car wash will be held in the parking lot behind the church, accessible from Greeley Street.
