Music Boosters award scholarships

Sycamore Music Boosters announced the recipients of the 2013 Summer Music Camp Scholarship and Senior Music Scholarships.

The Summer Music Camp Scholarship is awarded to various Sycamore students enrolled in the music program that are attending a selected music camp over the summer.

The recipients from Sycamore Middle School were: Ambyr Siebens, Athena Ye, Madeline McCormick, Megan Meyer, Grace Frielink, Kjelden Breidenbach, Colleen Dow, Julianne Morreale, Jessica Morreale, Grace Knapp, Tyler Berger, Bret Reser, Theresa Guss, Elizabeth Rader and John Paul Rader.  

The recipients from Sycamore High School were: Kayla Doyle, Baylie Petit, Manuela Schreiber, Emma Olson, Benjamin Van Wienen, Gabriella Rose Atkins, Rachel Hecht, Gracia Watson and Matt Johnson. 

The Senior Music Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors who are majoring in music in college. This year, three seniors were recognized and awarded $500 each to assist with college tuition.

Two students were awarded the Lundbeck Family Scholarship: Paige Phelps, cellist, who will attend Augustana College and major in music education, and Danielle Pivonka, violinist, who will attend North Park College and major in violin performance. The Senior Music Scholarship was awarded to Owen Ruff, violinist, who will attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in violin performance. The Bette J. Lundbeck Scholarship was awarded to Kailey Mulligan, and the John O. Weaver Scholarship was awarded to Ashley Pagel.
