Published: Thursday, June 27, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra will celebrate summer with a performance under the stars at 8 p.m. today at the Hopkins Park band shell in DeKalb.

All are invited to come out for a romantic evening or to bring the family for a fun and exciting concert of popular music. The concert is free.

Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra is a nonprofit community orchestra that features the talent of professional, student, and dedicated amateur musicians from the area. It began informally in 1976 and now engages in an annual series of concerts. At times, its programs are enhanced by including guest conductors and soloists from the region and beyond.
