3 spotted parachuting from Chicago's Trump Tower

CHICAGO – Chicago Police are searching for three people who managed to leap from the top of North America's second-tallest building overnight, using parachutes to float to the ground.

Police spokesman Ron Gaines says authorities began receiving 911 calls around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday from people who saw the trio of BASE jumpers leap from the top of Trump International Hotel & Tower, a 1,389-foot building along the Chicago River in the city's downtown.

No injuries were reported and the three daredevils managed to get away.

Gaines says investigators aren't sure how the jumpers got access to the top of the building, but says if the three are arrested, they could face trespassing charges, along with other possible counts.

Hotel officials declined to comment when reached Thursday morning.
