DeKalb class of 1968 reunion is planned

DeKALB – The DeKalb High School class of 1968 will host its 45-year reunion Friday and Saturday, according to a news release.

Class members should meet at the main entrance of the new high school at 501 W. Dresser Road at 5 p.m. Friday. At 7 p.m., class members and all DHS graduates are invited to Lost Mine Lounge at Four Season Sports, 1745 DeKalb Ave.; owner Dennis “Doc” Royalty is a 1968 DHS graduate.

Golfers can organize their own foursomes or wait until they arrive at a golf outing 11 a.m. Saturday at Kishwaukee Country Club. For details, contact Steve Irving at 815-751-1654 or email irvgolf1@comcast.net. At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, tour the recently renovated Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St., including the two seats the class donated.

An evening of dinner and dancing will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with social hour at River Heights Golf Clubhouse, 1100 S. Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb. A DJ will play hits from the ’60s and ’70s.
