CST Storage welcomed more than 300 visitors from around the world to its facility at 345 Harvestore Drive in DeKalb for its annual customer open house May 16.
CST Storage’s DeKalb facility manufactures glass-fused-to-steel porcelain enamel-coated storage tanks for water, wastewater, industrial liquid, digester and agricultural use under the brand names Harvestore, Aquastore and Slurrystore. More than 275,000 CST Storage tanks and covers are operating in 125 countries.
“This was a great event because it offered our customers a firsthand look at our facility and our state-of-the-art manufacturing process,” vice president of operations Steve Allen said in a news release. “It provided an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate the quality and detail that goes into the tanks we manufacture. It was also a great opportunity for us to meet our customers from around the globe.”
CST dealers and customers were treated to breakfast and facility tours with 15 stops to learn the process of building the tanks. Subjects included welding, glass coat application, glass fusing, assembly, engineering and testing. After the tour, the group was treated to lunch and a raffle.
CST Storage is the global leader in the design, manufacture and installation of factory-coated modular steel storage tanks. The ISO-certified DeKalb facility is one of the company’s four engineering centers and the only facility specializing in glass-fused-to-steel coatings.
