Ex-high school employee charged with sexual abuse

LAKE FOREST – A former employee of a northern Illinois high school drama program is being accused of having sexual relationships with underage students.

Thirty-year-old Benjamin M. Davidson of North Chicago was arrested Friday and is being held in Lake County Jail in lieu of $100,000 in bond.

Davidson worked as a manager in the drama department of Lake Forest High School.

In a statement, Lake Forest Police said Davidson is charged with criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and child pornography.

Police said he had sexual relationships with two students under the age of 18. He’s also accused of coercing a minor into posing for sexually explicit photographs.

The school said it became aware of the allegations in March and that Davidson resigned when confronted over the matter.
