SYCAMORE – A 20-year-old man was sentenced to two years of probation Tuesday after admitting to breaking a jail window May 8 while authorities said he was heavily intoxicated.

Dylan J. Blackstone, whose last known address was the 1100 block of Rushmoore Drive, DeKalb, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to government property, a felony typically punishable by up to seven years in prison. He also pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property and possession of a drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

Blackstone was released from DeKalb County jail after entering the plea agreement Tuesday morning. He had been sentenced to 54 days in jail, but was given credit for the time he served while his cases were pending.

As a condition of his probation, Blackstone must receive psychiatric and substance abuse evaluation.

Blackstone also must pay $330 to the DeKalb County jail and $85 to a DeKalb resident who lives on the 1000 block of West Dresser Drive in DeKalb. Blackstone damaged a mailbox at that address on April 10, court records show.
