DeKalb sophomore Haley Tadd's walk-off hit in the seventh inning gave DeKalb a 4-3 win over Harlem in the Class 4A Prairie Ridge Sectional semifinals.
The Barbs advance to Saturday's sectional final at 11 a.m. and will face Gurnee, which defeated McHenry in Tuesday's sectional semifinal.
The Barbs and Huskies were scoreless through three innings before Harlem loaded the bases and scored three runs in the top of the fourth. DeKalb responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, capped by an RBI double by Sabrina Killeen.
Morgan Newport relieved Katie Kowalski for the final three innings and got the win.
It is DeKalb's first sectional title appearance since 2011 when the Barbs defeated Cary-Grove, 3-0, to win the program's only sectional championship.
