Burglary call causes Tyler Elementary lockdown

DeKALB – Tyler Elementary School was placed on lockdown Tuesday as DeKalb police responded to a burglary call in the area that required officers to draw their weapons.

DeKalb Sgt. Mark Tehan said police were responding to a burglary call in the 300 block of West Alden Place. Tehan said the suspect was thought to be in the house. The suspected burglar turned out to be the homeowner’s stepson, Tehan said. No charges were filed.
