Cafe hosting run/walk to benefit Safe Passage

SHABBONA – Pokanoka’s Cafe will host its first Pokanoka’s Run/Walk at Shabbona State Park to benefit Safe Passage at 9 a.m. July 4.

Safe Passage offers counseling, legal and medical advocacy, crisis intervention and a 24-hour hotline, among other things, for victims of domestic and sexual violence in DeKalb County.

The registration fee for the seven-mile run will be $25 for those who preregister and $30 for those who register within the seven days before the run. Registration for the two-mile walk costs $10. Preregistration fees include a T-shirt.
