KIRKLAND – A Kirkland man suffered minor injuries in a car crash Tuesday morning.

Gary L. Hoffman, 61, was stopped at the four-way stop intersection of Cherry Valley Road and Pearl Street at 7:49 a.m. when a Ford truck was driving eastbound on Cherry Valley toward the intersection, according to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s office news release.

Hoffman stopped in the intersection when it appeared that the Ford truck was not slowing for the stop sign, the release states. The truck, driven by Jack J. Carroll, 26, of North Augusta, S.C., struck Hoffman’s vehicle, the release states.

Carroll was charged with disobeying a stop sign. Hoffman was transported to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, where he was later released.
