DeKalb girls soccer shut out Morris, 5-0, on Saturday to remain undefeated in the Northern Illinois Big 12 East.
Kayla Perkins had two goals and an assist while Kelli Cardine also scored. DeKalb got a goal and an assist from Morgan Beatty in the win.
"It was a great team effort, early Saturday morning on a muddy pitch," DeKalb coach Phil Rouse said.
DeKalb hosts Morris on Tuesday and the Barb seniors will be honored on Senior Night.
Kaneland edges Rochelle: The Knights defeated Rochelle, 4-2, as Tyler Carlson and Matt Limbrunner both had RBIs in the win.
Blake Sowell piched six innings for the Knights.
Kramer wins three events: Brianna Kramer won three events, leading Genoa-Kingston to a win at its own invitational. Kramer won the 100 hurdles (17.02), 100 (13.32) and 300 hurdles (51.27).
Carly Fischer won the shot put (31-1) and discus (94-2) while Danielle Neisendorf took first in the high jump (5-2) and pole vault (9-0).
Jessica Drendel set personal bests in the 100 and 300 hurdles, taking second in both events.
Jessalyn Palmer broke 30 feet in the shot put for the first time in her career, placing fourth.
"We are getting a little healthier and rounding into shape with some good running weather," G-K coach Barry Schmidt said.
H-BR takes third: Hinckley-Big Rock took third place at the Genoa-Kingston Invitational despite having only eight girls competing.
Courtney Carls won the long jump (14-4) and triple jump (31-9) while Kristen Clark was second in the 1600 meters with a career-best time of 5:58.36. The 4x400 relay of Beth Klein, Sophia Peters, Madison Davies and Clark won in 4:36.36
Carls takes discus: H-BR's Mack Carls was first in the discus with a throw of 131-2 and Billy Weissinger finished first in the high jump at 6-0. Weissinger was also second in the 400, finishing in 53.73.
Jared Madden placed second in the 300 hurdles with a season-best time of 42.52.
