Sugar Grove man charged with DUI, speeding

DeKALB – A Sugar Grove man was charged with driving under the influence during a traffic stop for driving 104 mph in a 55 mph zone Saturday morning.

Philip D. Austin, 25, of the 300 block of Wheeler Road in Sugar Grove, was stopped around 1:30 a.m. by DeKalb County deputies for speeding near Route 38 and Nelson Road in DeKalb, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

After deputies further investigated the situation, Austin was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit and speeding.
