Letter: Finucane knows Second Ward

Published: Thursday, April 4, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

I want to offer my strongest support for city of DeKalb 2nd Ward alderman candidate Bill Finucane. As a resident of DeKalb for the past 43 years, Bill knows this community. He has been actively involved in all facets of our community as a resident, a parent, a member of civic organizations, a board member for local not for profits and as the transportation manager at Northern Illinois University.

Bill has demonstrated that he knows the needs of the 2nd Ward. He recognizes that the needs are different depending on the location within the ward. He will emphasize the infrastructure needs of the south end while focusing on the security issues of the north end. He has demonstrated his knowledge of and shared his vision for economic development in the 2nd Ward as well as the city as a whole. Most of all, he will be accessible to his constituents, will listen to their concerns and will represent them on the council.

As transportation manager at NIU, Bill will have the unique ability to strengthen the communiversity relationship that we will all benefit from. He knows and has the respect of key people within the community and at NIU that will make this possible.

Bill Finucane is a fiscal conservative, a social moderate and a longtime resident of the 2nd Ward. He is uniquely qualified to help further the city’s objectives of strengthening its financial health and strengthening its infrastructure and core services.  Bill also will make sure that the needs of our most frail residents are addressed and that the opinions of his constituents are heard.  Please vote for Bill Finucane for city of DeKalb 2nd Ward Alderman.
