STERLING – The Sycamore girls soccer team rarely let up its offense in its season opener against Sterling on Wednesday.

The Spartans recorded 24 shots and walked away with a 3-0 win on the road almost three weeks after the season had started. Sycamore’s attack hit high speed about 10 minutes into the match and the Spartans (1-0) finally found a way to score as Katherine Kohler bounced a shot past the Sterling keeper with 21:30 left in the half.

In the second half, Lauren Miller scored twice off assists from Kohler.
