Letter: Bellah works hard for Kirkland

To the Editor:

As the voters of the Village of Kirkland elect a mayor on April 9, they will have an opportunity to keep Les Bellah working for the community.

Over the past 12 years, Les has served as village president, we have worked with him on many projects and observed his passion for the community.

Les was persistent in finding funding for the Hortense Street bridge repairs. In this economy it’s not easy to fund the needs of the village but Les has been successful. He can make the tough decision and cooperates well with county and state officials as well as with us.

You can see him working at community events in the park, the Fourth of July parade, the Northern Illinois Veterans Memorial and other activities to bring visitors to the community.

We have found Les Bellah to be among the hardest-working mayors, an effective advocate for his community, and an individual with whom we can work in serving Kirkland.

State Sen. Dave Syverson,

State Rep. Bob Pritchard,
