Empty Bowls event to benefit Hope Haven

DeKALB – Three organizations will host a soup dinner featuring ceramic bowls Thursday to benefit Hope Haven homeless shelter. The Empty Bowls event will be at 4:30 and 6 p.m. at the Chandelier Room, 143 Adams Hall, on Northern Illinois University’s campus, according to a news release. It is organized by the Student Dietetic Association, the NIU Ceramics Club and Bread for the World. The cost is $15 for soup and a ceramic bowl and $10 for a plastic bowl of soup.
