Tangy Noodles

With another holiday coming over the horizon we begin to think again of dishes we may want to serve to our family. Of course we have the necessary family favorites. Dishes we must serve each holiday or it just wouldn't seem right. However, there is always room for a new and tasty side dish.

This is a different take on egg noodles. First of all, most recipes only call for a little salt in your boiling water. With this recipe were going to add one lightly smashed clove of garlic. This will bring a very faint background flavor of one of our favorite spices.

I would encourage you to try this recipe once or twice before serving it to your family to make sure all the ingredients are in the proper proportions for the flavors you wish to achieve.

Egg Noodles with Horseradish Sour Cream and Dill

Serves 8

1 8 oz bagwide egg noodles

1 clove garlic, lightly smashed

2 Tbl butter, melted

1/2 cup sour cream

2 Tbl fresh dill, chopped

1 Tbl grated horseradish

Fill a large pot with water, add a little salt and the lightly smashed clove of garlic, bring to rolling boil, and add your egg noodles, cook according to directions on bag.

While noodles are cooking, whisk together the sour cream, dill and horseradish, set aside.

When noodles are done drain in a colander, discard garlic clove. As soon as they are drained place them back in the empty pot and stir in the 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Follow this immediately with the sour cream mixture.

Place your dish in a large bowl and garnish with some fresh dill.
