Women’s History Month Art Show at DAWC in March
The DeKalb Area Women’s Center, 1021 State St., is hosting a month-long art show featuring female artists.
The center’s galleries are open from 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays and by appointment.
The show includes tributes to world-famous artists Mary Cassatt, who was the only American artist who exhibited with the French Impressionists; Georgia O’Keeffe, noted for her southwestern oils and huge floral close-ups; Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter who often expressed her suffering through self-portraits; and Kathe Kollwitz, a German artist who excelled in expressive drawings prompted by the horrors of war.
