Snow expected to limit parking, travel

Update: 11:50 a.m.: Snow routes are in effect in DeKalb. New snowfall has exceeded two inches, and the city has declared a parking prohibition on designated snow routes in the City of DeKalb.

The city has asked that if you are parked on a snow route to move your car or you will be towed.

The city has also given notice to all private contractors performing snow removal for any type of property within the limits of the City of DeKalb that pushing snow from private areas onto city streets is not permitted under city code. The fine for doing so is $100.

Original story begins here: DeKalb street officials are strongly discouraging motorists from parking on the street today, while Sycamore officials are more likely to ticket cars parked illegally.
