Bands needed to Rock Against Rape

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, which means it’s time for the fourth annual Rock Against Rape event at Northern Illinois University.

Victim Advocacy Services and the Women’s Resource Center, in collaboration with supporting NIU offices and NIU/community bands, are enhancing awareness of sexual assault by hosting a concert that inspires and rocks against sexual assault. The event will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. April 4 in the Diversions Lounge in the Holmes Student Center.

Individual and group bands from the campus and community are needed to perform at the event and raise awareness of sexual assault. Band confirmation deadline is March 11. If you or someone you know is interested in performing at the event, contact Kelly Phelan, V.A.S. graduate assistant, at 815-753-0320.
