Published: Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

GENOA – The Genoa-Kingston Education Foundation will host its third annual Mouse Races at 7 p.m. March 9.

The races feature live mice available for sponsorship, which includes two tickets to the event and naming rights for the mouse, according to a news release. There will be six races with nine mice in each race. Winners of each race compete in a seventh race to determine the champion.

Event proceeds will go to the foundation’s mini-grant fund, which helps teachers purchase items that aren’t included in the district’s budget.

The event is held at the Genoa Veterans Home, 311 S. Washington St., Genoa. For more information, visit www.gkedfoundation.org.
