First Baptist Church to host World Day of Prayer

Women, men and children in more than 170 countries will celebrate World Day of Prayer on March 1.

The women of France have chosen the theme, “I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” The women who prepared the worship service used the scripture from Matthew 25 that tell of welcoming the stranger.

This year, the DeKalb service will be held at First Baptist Church, Third and Prospect streets, in the fellowship hall. Coffee and fellowship time will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the worship service at 9:30 a.m. Attendees should use the Third Street door or the door at the rear of the church in the alley, which is handicapped accessible. Additional parking is available in the lot across from the former DeKalb Clinic.
