Rose 'far away' from returning
Derrick Rose plans to be extra careful when it comes to his recovery from a torn ACL.
Rose, who has not played since his injury April 28, spoke with USA Today in his first extensive interview of the season. Rose has declined interview requests for the past several months, leaving his Adidas ad campaign as the main source of information on his recovery.
Although Rose has returned to practice and takes part in extensive shooting drills before games, the Bulls have not specified a date for his return.
Neither has Rose.
"I don't have a set date," Rose told USA Today. "I'm not coming back until I'm 110 percent. Who knows when that can be? It can be within a couple of weeks. It could be next year. It could be any day. It could be any time. It's just that I'm not coming back until I'm ready."
Rose then was asked how close he was to "110 percent."
"Right now, probably in the high 80s," he said. "Far away. Far away."
At 30-21, the Bulls entered Tuesday with the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference. Thirty-one games remain in the regular season.
