Women’s club offers scholarships

The Genoa Community Women’s Club will award several college scholarships to graduating seniors from Genoa-Kingston High School class of 2013. Application forms are available now at the high school guidance office. Forms must be returned to the guidance office by April 1.

Winners will be selected based on financial need, involvement in the community through volunteer work and service projects, and academic records. Applicants must attend any institution of higher learning beginning fall 2013. The award can only be used to defray the costs of tuition, room and board, textbooks, and extra class fees. All monies will be sent directly to the school of the students’ choice.

Presentation of the scholarships will be during the commencement ceremony in May. In the past six years, a total of $22,000 has been awarded to 19 students.
