Energy assistance program available

Tri-County Opportunities Council is accepting applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program through May 31 or until funds are depleted.

To receive money, a household must show its income for the 30 days before the application, copies of social security cards for every household member, a current gas and electric bill and medical cards for every household member that may receive one, according to a news release.

The household income for the 30 days leading up to the application cannot exceed $1,396 for one person, $1,891 for two people, $2,386 for three people, $2,881 for four people, and $3,376 for five people.
